Brody Leven and Katie Boue spend a lot of time outdoors, and because of their lifestyle, they encounter a lot of wild animals. But when they visited the canyons in Colorado, they were surprised to find these two furry creatures up on a rocky mountain. The night before they climbed up the mountain, they kept hearing the sound of coyotes.
When they got to the climbing area the next day, they continued to hear the coyote sounds. They looked around for any signs of them, and when they looked up the mountain, they saw the two “coyotes” that kept making the sounds. However, these two creatures looked a little different. It didn’t take the couple long before they realized that they were actually dogs!
The couple thought that these doggos must’ve been accompanied by humans, so they started calling out to the pups’ owners. But unfortunately, nobody answered back. These poor puppers were abandoned! Brody knew that he had to rescue these pups to give them a chance at survival.
So he climbed up the rocky mountain to get the doggos, but he couldn’t find them when he reached the top. He looked around for the puppers, but they seem to have vanished. But just when Brody was about to give up, he saw the two dogs hiding inside a small cave. The abandoned doggos were emaciated, and surprisingly, they were not skittish when Brody came to get them.
Brody spent some time gaining their trust, and not long after, he was able to pet them and carry them out of the small cave. He then led them to a ledge and fastened them to his body so they could rappel down. Katie collected the puppers when they reached the ground. She named them Meatball and Parmesan since their dog’s name is Spaghetti. They brought the two pups to the nearest veterinary clinic as these doggos were clearly dehydrated and fatigued.
Katie and Brody wanted to keep them, but they had a work schedule that must be followed, so they left Meatball and Parmesan at a local shelter. After several days, they received word that Meatball and Parmesan had found their forever homes!
