Most of us would surely agree that dogs are creatures of love that want nothing more than to have that love returned. Although dogs are such creatures, some people just have hearts made out of stone. It’s really hard to imagine how some people would prefer being cruel to dogs.
A group of teenagers stole a Chihuahua named Chunky and subjected him to horrific treatment. The teenagers broke Chunky’s neck and then set his face on fire. According to rescuers, it was one of the most disturbing cases of animal cruelty they have ever had to deal with.
As if breaking his neck and lighting him on fire wasn’t enough, Chunky was also fed drugs before the teenagers threw him in a garbage dump. Chunky was left for dead and it seemed that he wasn’t going to survive his ordeal.
Thankfully, a good samaritan happened to pass by the garbage dump and noticed Chunky. After Chunky was identified, he was returned to his owners where they immediately rushed him to the animal hospital for treatment. Thankfully, Chunky survived. However, Chunky’s family knew that it was going to take a lot of time for Chunky to fully recover.
Chunky miraculously survived the horrific ordeal he experienced. Chunky was also terrified and depressed after he was rescued. Chunky’s injuries were so severe that he was in pain for six days even after the vets gave him strong pain medications.
However, after Chunky recovered from his injuries and returned to his owners, he was incredibly calm and loving like he was before. Chunky’s owners feared that Chunky would never get over his horrible experienced. Thankfully, Chunky did and he’s still a sweet dog that loves being around people.
The teenagers were also caught and were ordered to pay the cost for Chunky’s treatment and were banned from owning animals in the future. It’s truly unbelievable that there are people out there who are capable of such cruelty. Thankfully, there are also people out there that truly care for animals.
Despite everything that Chunky experienced, he continues to be a sweet dog. Chunky has the scars that tell the story of the torture and cruelty he experienced but he has a truly amazing family who loves him unconditionally which helped him recover physically and emotionally.
