Many individuals experience worry and stress when they see the dentist. This is where Kismet comes in. Kismet, a 13-year-old Chihuahua, provides comfort to patients who visit Corte Madera Family Dentistry in California.
Kismet is a canine office worker in Marin and is also a rescue dog. Dr. Cameron Garrett, the office dentist at Corte Madera Family Dentistry, said that a dog like Kismet could assist an apprehensive patient.
Dr. Garrett also said that after several years in the field, she realized she is both a psychiatrist and a dentist. She shared that everyone who enters the dental office often comes with a lot of worries or emotional baggage. A lot of people even fear going to the dentist.
According to Dr. Garrett, scientific research shows that physical engagement with an animal decreases blood pressure. Additionally, it reduces a person’s heart rate and produces a calming effect. Indeed, dogs may help people become calm. Every day, therapy dogs assist individuals with anxiety, despair, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
As soon as dog lovers see Kismet, their stress is immediately relieved, and they are filled with joy. Their mind is taken off of their fears of the dentist’s office.
Muttville Senior Dog Rescue took in the stray Kismet before he found a job and a family. She has had medical care costing thousands of dollars. They removed a tumor that was malignant, repaired a hernia, and pulled all of her teeth due to periodontal disease.
Her family suspected Kismet had been abused prior to her adoption. Nevertheless, despite her troubled past, Kismet is extremely affectionate. She rarely barks, adores being held, and would spend the entire day on your lap if she could.
Her fur mom claims that Kismet is the ideal addition to their office and family. She stated that Kismet brings everyone so much joy and that she is quite lovable.
