Families worldwide had more than their share of bonding during the quarantine period. Parents came up with various activities to keep their children entertained and productive while everybody stayed at home. One particular family found a way of involving everybody, even their dogs, on a task that expressed their creativity while having a lot of fun.
Ripley and Burger King, the family’s two playful dogs, had the habit of peeking at passersby through a hole in their fence. They loved poking their heads out, greeting anybody who happened to pass by their wall. Brian Stanley, the dogs’ owner, made the holes to keep the dogs from digging under the fence.
When the lockdown happened, Brian came up with an idea to keep his son busy with an arts and crafts project while having fun with their goofy pet dogs. Together with his kid, they created pop culture posters and attached them to frame the fence holes. Whenever the dogs poked their heads out, it produced a whole new experience for all their neighbors.
Their posters featured dog-themed paintings ranging from movies to video games. They even gave their take on modern art like ‘The Scream,’ aptly calling their version ‘The Bark.’ The posters they created brought so many positive vibes around their neighborhood that they were inspired to keep making more.
The two dogs became famous among their neighbors. Ripley was the shy dog, while Burger was the silly good-nature oaf. It was Burger who always came bounding toward their fence window to check out the people walking outside. He sported a wide grin and was a people-pleaser.
Neighbors and visitors often stopped by to take selfies with the adorable pups, giving them treats and affectionately scratching their ears. Many have expressed their appreciation for the lovely posters, saying they couldn’t help but smile every time they passed the fence. In these uncertain times, we need all the positivity that we could get.
