Hope for Paws, a not-for-profit animal rescue organization, received yet another call that a homeless pit bull had given birth in a yard. After arriving at the said place, they saw the mother and her puppies lying on the ground. To ensure that the pit bulls won’t escape, the rescuers secured the area with a temporary fence. They slowly approach the mama dog, but it wouldn’t let them near.
The pit bull kept running around so much that luckily, some of the neighbors decided to help and surrounded the fence so that the pit bull wouldn’t break through it. Having been cornered, the rescuers were able to slip the snare on the mama dog.
When rescuers touched her, the pit bull did not gnarl or bite, instead, she seemed relieved and thankful even for the human contact. After the dog calmed down, rescuers were finally able to leash her.
Now that the mother was rescued, rescuers searched for her puppies, which they eventually found behind a small tree. They gently took the puppies to the car. Sadly, one puppy didn’t make it.
They took the family to the center where they named the mama pittie, Laxus, and her babies: Beamer, Prius, Mercedes, and Cooper. They gave Laxus and the puppies a bath and cleaned them as they were all infested with fleas. After a bath, however, Laxus seemed different.
Laxus started to whine and, in her own way, informed the rescuers that something was wrong. A quick scan revealed a bottle cap inside her tummy. Laxus was a nursing mom, so surgery was the last resort for rescuers. Instead, they tried to make the pittie vomit the cap out, and thankfully, Laxus threw up the cap quickly.
Three weeks later, both the mama dog and puppies are healthy and lively. They are still with their foster home and are waiting for a family to love them.
