A cyclist who took the same route each day spotted a dog by the side of the road. He thought it was a happy incident to see the same pup more than once. But when he realized it’s been weeks and he was still there, he knew he had to ask for help.
The kind man contacted Howl Of A Dog and explained the situation to them. He even agreed to meet with the rescuer on-site. He waited for them to arrive to make sure the dog was safe.
The pup, named Leo, later on, was found in the outskirts of Resita, a city in Romania. The man who found him gained his trust and fed him for two months. He stayed in the same spot and waited for his new friend.
When the rescuer came, she tried to gain Leo’s trust. He was a bit hesitant at first, but he liked treats so much. He ate right from her hand and let her give him a few pats on the head.
Once the dog felt comfortable around her, the rescuer placed a leash on his neck and drove him straight to the animal clinic. The vet staff scanned him for a microchip but he didn’t have one. He, however, had an infected wound on his tail that required immediate medical attention.
The vets cleaned and disinfected Leo’s wound. They estimated that he was about four years old and treated him for dehydration. But other than that, he was in perfect health.
Before long, Leo was ready for a new beginning. He began his search for a forever home. And because he was such an adorably sweet boy, he didn’t have to wait very long.
A man named Dominik fell in love with Leo and offered him a home. He made all the necessary arrangements, and the dog finally made it to Bochum, Germany. Leo found the beginning of his happy ending.
