Winter is beautiful. However, it can also be harsh for homeless dogs. Stray dogs would find some shelter to keep themselves warm. However, some people are heartless and try to chase away stray dogs because of how they look.
During the middle of winter in Northern Romania, temperatures were dropping to -4 degrees F. It was windy, and everything was also covered in a blanket of snow. For most people, the scenery looks amazing. However, a homeless dog named Indy was found sleeping outside of a hotel in the snow.
The hotel owner kept chasing Indy away, afraid that the dog might scare away guests. However, Indy kept coming back to find shelter from the extreme cold. The hotel staff was also instructed not to feed Indy to discourage her from coming back. Thankfully, a tourist saw Indy and rang a local animal rescue organization in Romania called Howl Of A Dog.
Since the resort hotel was so far away, the tourist stated that he’d drive Indy to the Howl Of A Dog facility. The compassionate tourist was determined not to leave the resort until he found a solution for Indy’s situation. The tourist brought a crate with blankets to keep Indy warm during the cold nights. The tourist also gave Indy food every day.
Eventually, the tourist drove more than 300 miles to bring Indy to the Howl Of A Dog facility. The rescuers were grateful for having someone do such a kind thing for a stray dog. The tourist stated that he would adopt Indy if he could, but he already has a dog back home.
The man’s holiday up in the mountains in Romania turned into a rescue mission. However, the tourist was glad that he got to be a part of saving Indy. Blood tests were performed as well as ultrasound. Fortunately, Indy was in overall good health. Indy’s now in Howl Of A Dog’s care and is ready to find a forever home.
After a few days, Indy was still a little shy, but she’s slowly starting to realize that she’s in a safe place. Indy deserves a forever home with a loving family that will never abandon her again. Here’s a heartwarming video of how a tourist ended up rescuing an abandoned dog.
