Michael Fiala had always wanted to live in Hawaii. But when he finally moved to The Aloha State, it was a difficult transition for him. The dog dad didn’t have a lot of money when he got there. But luckily, he had his Siberian husky Sox, who made the transition a lot easier.
Michael only had enough money to buy a motorcycle which was perfect because he needed it for his future plans. He wanted to see all 50 states on a bike as part of his bucket list. Of course, being a dog dad, he included Sox in all of his plans, and it all started with a little bit of practice.
He would ask Sox to sit on his bike while he rolled it back and forth the driveway. Sometimes, Michael would sit on the motorcycle with him and slowly shift the weight from left to right so that his pooch would become familiar with the movements. After four months of practicing, they started riding the bike in Hawaii.
After five years of riding together, they traveled to the continental United States to begin their adventure. They started in the state of Washington and headed down south through California, Nevada, and New Mexico. Michael shared that he let Sox run free when they went through the Nevada desert since there were no other vehicles driving by.
The dog dad would rev his motorcycle’s engine whenever it was time for them to go, and the husky would run back to him. Michael used a couple of cameras to record their adventure, and he mounted one of them on Sox’s helmet. When he viewed the footage on that camera, the dog dad saw that his pooch was taking it all in.
Sox was enjoying the experience so far, and this made the trip extra special for Michael. He wanted his fur baby to have fun during the trip, and they’re off to a great start. Learn more about Michael and Sox’s journey in the video below.
