Joey Martin is the delighted and proud owner of a German Shepherd mix named Maximus. In addition to being his best pal, the dog is also his emotional support service dog.
One day, Joey brought his dog with him to Auburn, Washington, on a trip that he had planned. However, things really did not go according to plan when Joey experienced a medical emergency and was transported to the hospital.
Max, who was unexpectedly left alone in a hotel room, was sent to a local animal shelter by the hotel staff. The shelter personnel checked Max’s microchip and discovered the contact information for his furry father. However, they were unable to contact Joey due to his current state.
After three days of unsuccessful attempts to contact Joey, the shelter personnel made the decision to place Max up for adoption.
Max was adopted by a family whom he instantly liked. However, when Joey was ultimately released from the hospital, that was the time he learned what had happened to his beloved pet. He was reasonably distressed.
Joey quickly phoned the shelter where his dog was staying, and the staff immediately notified the family who adopted the dog. After discovering what caused their separation, thankfully, Max’s family consented to return him to his fur dad.
Joey expressed his profound gratitude to the family who returned the dog and to everyone who assisted him. If not for these amazing people, Joey may not have survived or may have gotten worse in terms of his health. Joey may also not have gotten his cherished dog back with him.
To prevent your precious dog from becoming lost or mistakenly adopted by someone else, it is essential that you update your contact information on their microchip whenever necessary. In addition, it is recommended to have at least two contacts in the microchip in case one is unavailable.
