In Bali, Indonesia, two sisters named Chantal and Desi were driving along a road when Chantal saw a dog in a doghouse in front of an empty villa. The dog was emaciated and almost hairless. They were a part of a rescue team called Bali Paws, so they could not turn a blind eye.
They then tried to coax him out of the dog house by offering her some food. They cautiously approached because they did not want her to get scared and run to the road. After an hour, Desi was able to grab her. The dog knew that they would not hurt her, so she remained calm the moment she was taken.
The women brought him to the vet straight away. They hoped she did not have any terminal illnesses. Fortunately, she was only diagnosed with an eye infection and scabies that were treatable.
Chantal and Desi named her Lucy Ray and brought her home with them. There were 16 dogs in their house at that time. It might have been overwhelming for Lucy because she did not interact with them much.
Days went by, and Lucy started to feel better. Her perky personality showed up. She was so happy when they went out for walks or visited the beach. Soon, she was playing with the other dogs in the house.
About a month later, Bali Paw sent Lucy to her new home with Matt and Brianna in Centreville, Virginia. The couple did not have to make an effort to gain her affections because she immediately took to them. Lucy was so sweet, so it was easy for them to love her.
Lucy was very fond of her new home. She loved going out and exploring. However, as soon as she was back, she still had the energy to run around the house. It was as if she was so happy to have a place where she belonged.
