Our pet dogs are like our family. They just can’t be left behind without ensuring that they are cared for. And when dogs get abandoned, they don’t just suffer from the lack of food and care, but they are also scarred emotionally. No one, not even dogs, wants to feel rejected.
One small pooch in California was left behind by her owners when they moved away from their home. Nobody knew why, but some of the neighbors noticed that the dog was inside the property, all alone. They gave the pup some food and water, but she still needed a place to call home. So they decided to get some help.
A new home, a new mom
They called Hope for Paws, a non-profit dog rescue organization that is based in Los Angeles. The founder, Eldad, responded to the call and, along with his colleague, went to the location.
They immediately saw the abandoned pooch once they arrived. The rescuers opened the gate, and the dog instantly scurried away. Scared and frightened, she went into the narrow space between the house and the garage.
Eldad followed the dog while his companion went to the other end to prevent him from further running away. They scattered some food in front of the dog to gain his trust. And slowly, they went near the dog. After several tense minutes, they were able to slip a leash around his neck.
With the dog now in tow, they brought her to their car and took her to a vet. Aside from malnutrition and slight dehydration, the dog was released with a clean bill of health. She was then given to a foster where she stayed until she got better.
In just a few months, the dog became healthier and happier. And when she was finally independent for adoption, it only took a couple of weeks before someone took her in. The lucky dog now happily lives in a happy home with a loving new mom.
