In many countries, including the US, homeless dogs are still a problem. A lot of these dogs were abandoned by their owners and are afraid of living alone in the streets. All dogs deserve loving forever homes, and homeless dogs definitely deserve a second chance to be part of a family.
A Romanian-based animal rescue organization called Howl Of A Dog was contacted about a homeless dog roaming a neighborhood for months. The stray dog would try to get near people but was often chased away because of how she looked.
The stray dog’s name is Heidi, and she has lived on the streets for months. Locals have already accepted Heidi as part of the town, but she deserves better. When Heidi got sick with mange, people started chasing her away. Eventually, Heidi became cautious of people.
When the Howl Of A Dog rescuers arrived at the neighborhood where Heidi lived, they didn’t have a hard time finding the homeless pooch. The rescuers observed Heidi for a little while. When the rescuers approached Heidi, Heidi also ran towards the rescuers as if she was asking for help.
Heidi was friendly with the rescuers, but she was a little hesitant. Heidi may be afraid of getting chased away again. However, the rescuers showed that they could be trusted, and the rescuers eventually won Heidi’s trust. Before the rescuers tried to get a leash around Heidi, the rescuers lured her away from the road.
The rescuers were very patient with Heidi and gained her trust slowly before Heidi allowed them to put a leash around her neck. Heidi was taken to the veterinarian to get her mange treated and get her an overall checkup to make sure she doesn’t have other health problems.
Heidi was given a medicated bath to help soothe her itchy and painful skin. Heidi was given medication to help treat her mange, and her fur was also shaved off. Heidi required medicated baths, and after a few weeks, Heidi’s condition improved.
Heidi’s skin healed, and she even started enjoying the baths. After almost two months, Heidi grew back her beautiful fur, and she also began to come out of her shell. Heidi showed everyone how sweet and playful she is after she recovered.
Heidi’s loving every moment of her new life. Thanks to her rescuers, Heidi got a second chance to find a new forever home. Heidi’s now living with a beautiful family in Canada, where she’s loved and cared for. Here’s a heartwarming video showing Heidi’s miraculous transformation.
