Nathan is a homeless man living in the streets of Sydney, Australia. On Christmas of 2019, he rescued an abandoned dog and called her Shagy. Despite being microchipped, the dog was in bad shape when he found her stacked under a shopping trolley.
Nathan brought Shagy to a vet even with what little he’s got for himself. He wanted to make sure the dog was okay, and he was prepared to spend on his new best friend.
Nathan nursed Shagy back to health. There are even times when he would rather choose to go without food for himself just so that Shagy can have a decent meal. “I am picky about what she eats,” Nathan mentioned, “I saved her, but she really saved me,” he continued.
But on Sunday, the 30th of August, 2020, Nathan’s world was turned upside down. He and Shagy had been sleeping outside a Hungry Jack’s in the Circular Quay area when he went to use a public restroom at around 2 PM. When he returned, Shagy was nowhere to be found.
The moment Nathan realized that Shagy was missing, he panicked and began to shout for help—but no one even bothered. Being a homeless man, people thought he was crazy. A police officer approached Nathan to see what was happening, but he soon left and never returned.
Nathan was devastated as he sat on his bed and cry. Arthur & Co., a pet detective agency, offered to help Nathan find Shagy. They posted Nathan’s plight in social media, hoping that someone will come forward with information about Shagy’s whereabouts. Should Shagy be returned to Nathan, the pet detective agency promises to assist with her needs, such as food and medication.
Anyone who has owned a pet can only imagine the pain Nathan is going through because of the ordeal. Any information that will lead to Nathan and Shagy’s reunion is welcomed by Arthur & Co.
