A family was so happy to know that their beloved dog had given birth to a litter of adorable puppies. They watched over the furry family and made sure everyone was okay.
Suddenly, they heard the momma dog whimper and when they checked what the matter was, they knew they need to act fast.
One of the puppies, Adoo, was completely wet. He was cold like ice and he trembled frantically. He was just a few days old so he failed to keep his body temperature and even his mom no longer knew what to do. Luckily enough, their owners knew to call for help.
Immediately, rescuers from the local animal rescue group Animal Aid Unlimited, India responded. They gently but quickly lifted Adoo and wrapped him in a blanket. He, however, was already unconscious when they arrived so they knew they were racing time.
The little puppy suffered from hypothermia and his life was seriously at risk. No blanket, no matter how thick, was enough to raise his body temperature. His body was already rigid and the rescuers weren’t certain he’d make it.
As soon as they reached their hospital, the rescuers administered a warm saline drip to the hypothermic puppy. Later on, they wrapped him with another blanket to immediately warm him up. They also placed him on top of heated water bottles. They did everything they could think of to raise his body temperature.
Later that night, one of the volunteer workers decided to keep Adoo company the entire night. She helped warm him up by placing him near her and using her own body temperature. She wasn’t so hopeful that it would work but she was surprised to know that it did.
Come morning, the puppy woke up as if nothing happened. He was a little confused because he didn’t know where he was but he was much better. He ate on his own and then played with the other puppies at the sanctuary.
Adoo stayed with his rescue friends for a few days to ensure he was perfectly fine, and he surely enjoyed his stay with them. He thanked everyone for their heroic stance, and he bid goodbye because he was ready to be with his family again.
