When a Good Samaritan spotted a dog by a dumpster, he knew immediately to call for help. He searched for animal rescue groups and connected with Angel City Pit Bulls in Los Angeles, California. He knew they’d do everything to help the poor pup.
Once at the vet’s office, the doctors revealed the dog, named Q-Tip, later on, had severe mange. Her skin was crusty and she was so skinny. She was in terrible shape, but she still stole the hearts of her rescuers.
Erin Keegan, a volunteer with Angel City Pit Bulls, admitted she does not foster a lot. But when she saw Q-Tip, she knew right away she wanted her. She found her so adorable so she took her in.
From the moment the dog arrived in their home, Erin and her husband promised Q-Tip that everything she’ll experience will be good things moving forward. They let her sleep in a soft bed for as long as she wanted. They treated her like their own dog.
Q-Tip’s skin was so raw and delicate that even the slightest touch caused her discomfort. But she liked to cuddle a lot. To give in to what she wanted, her foster dad covered her in a blanket so they could have cuddle sessions once in a while.
The dog had daily medicated baths, and within three weeks, she started to feel much better. She added weight, and her skin began to heal. She was able to wear a collar and went on short walks out front. She enjoyed spending time outdoors.
Within about 12 weeks, Q-Tip transformed from a sick dog to a happy girl. She soaked all the attention she could get and she played with her foster dog siblings all day long. It was surely a clear indication that she was ready for a new start.
A lovely couple fell in love with Q-Tip, and even their dog, Pabst, loved her. They were her perfect match, and there was no doubt they were all meant to be together.
