For decades, dogs and cats have been pitted against each other. The classic myth of these two animals always being at great odds is so universally known that they are often viewed as natural enemies. These archenemies may squabble more about their food bowls, but living together under one roof is entirely possible.
In fact, in the right environment and with plenty of encouragement, they can become best buddies.
One unique bulldog proved that this could be done. Typically seen as tough and ornery, this particular dog breed was an often misunderstood type. Bulldog owners often shared how sweet and caring these dogs were.
And Pickles was the gentlest bulldog pup of them all.
This dog’s charming personality was also pretty handy, especially with the rescue kittens his owner had a penchant for fostering. One specific pair of kittens, James and Jacobi, recently received the special Pickles-type treatment. As it turned out, Pickles was an excellent cuddle buddy and a willing pillow for a cuddle pile.
The feline brothers were a tight pair, depending on each other for solace and security. Despite being neglected and left on the street, these two still had each other and retained their natural curiosity with the world. They were always cuddling each other, something that Pickles certainly picked up on.
The good-natured pup wanted in on the cuddle action, determined to show his kitten buddies he could snuggle with the best of them. Together, the trio formed the most adorable cuddle pile. With the nurturing environment that Pickles helped created, the kittens blossomed and grew more confident and contented.
It was no surprise that the two finally found their forever home. And they had Pickles to thank for that.
As for this delightful pup, Pickles continued looking after his owner’s new kitty fosters with the same cuddle therapy he gave James and Jacobi.
