Residents in Malaysia reported seeing two pregnant strays roaming under a bridge. The two female dogs gave birth near the bridge’s approach ramp. This section of the bridge was dry and hardly large enough for the dogs. One of the dogs already created a den behind a rock pile, while the other picked a more open area.
A local animal center got information about the dogs and immediately dispatched a team to investigate. Upon arriving at the location, the team immediately spotted the two dogs. The location was dry, yet the two mother dogs may have trouble finding food. Construction debris, soil, and boulders were scattered around the area.
The team chose to secure first the one lying on its side and fed its puppies before pursuing the other dog. The rescuers transported the puppies with care into the dog crates they had brought with them.
The dog simply observed the team at work. When they carried the dog carriers into the rescue van, the dog followed them.
The other mother dog sought cover in a concealed area beneath the ramp. A rescuer was required to crawl in order to approach the dog family. He soon was able to take each puppy and give it to the eager hands of his teammates.
The team gently placed the puppies in the dog carriers. A rescuer attached a leash to the mother dog before taking her out of her makeshift den.
The rescuers saved 22 puppies and secured both mother dogs.
The team returned home after a successful rescue mission. The veterinarians at the animal facility examined each dog thoroughly and discovered that they were all in good health.
Under the supervision of the animal facility, the dogs enjoy a safe home and ample food. They also receive proper veterinary care and vaccines. In only a few weeks, the puppies have become healthier.
When guests arrive at the animal facility, these canines are on display. The shelter is optimistic that the dogs will soon find new homes.
