Dogs definitely love sticks and this 4-year-old Golden Retriever is no exception to that.
Meet Bruce and his refined collection of 50 sticks which he is very proud of and delightfully showing off to his dad Leo Icenhour. According to Leo, this stick collection started when Bruce lost his absolute favorite and only stick which he left outside during massive snow that came into their area.
The stick was buried in over 12 inches of snow and despite his best and hardest efforts in digging and searching, Bruce could not find his stick. This frenzy went over for a couple of days and Bruce would even bury his head into the snow trying to dig that stick. After that, he started to pick up sticks from his daily walks and his collection has now grown.
Bruce boasted different types of sticks – long, short, thick, thin, straight, or curved. He never discriminated against his sticks and he loved all sticks regardless of shape or size. They lived near a creek so he always had a fine selection of driftwood that he can choose from. Luckily, after a few days, the snow melted and Bruce was able to finally find his long-lost stick.
But all of these sticks were purely for his collection and he only played with rubber ones for fetch. Leo mentioned that when Bruce was just 2 years old, he almost lost him with a stick that perforated his esophagus while they were playing fetch. Nevertheless, Leo still let him keep his sticks but all of the sticks were left on the front door.
Bruce became an instant celebrity with his collection earning over hundreds of thousands of views on Reddit and Imgur with tens of thousands of upvotes. Clearly, Bruce and his stick collection won the Internet.
