Nikki meets Camper
Nikki Delventhal lives in her car, and the world is her playground. This adventurous lady has fearlessly tackled the roads less taken. To her surprise, one of those roads led her to Camper, a stray dog who is now her best friend.
Nikki could very well remember the momentous day she first met Camper. In September 2020, she and her mom were traveling along a remote area in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She noticed a dog chasing the car from her rearview mirror. When she stopped the car and opened the door, the stray dog hopped in right away.
Nikki and her mom brought the dog to a local animal shelter. Nobody seemed to recognize the dog. They left him at the shelter for a while so he can get treated. But Nikki had the nagging feeling about adopting the dog, so she went back to the shelter and officially took him in.
A life full of adventures
Nikki named the dog Camper, which is just apt for their adventurous and nomadic lifestyle. Their home is a Toyota Prius which Nikki drives all over the US. They enjoy exploring the natural beauty of the country. Theyâd often stop at trails so they can go hiking or swim in the beautiful pristine rivers.
Whatever Nikki did, Camper was always with her. The pup proved to be a wonderful adventure buddy. He was always game with whatever his mom wanted to do. For Camper, traveling full-time and exploring the world with his mom is the ultimate adventure.
Camper, who used to be a stray, is now living an unconventional yet rewarding life with his favorite human. So now we can say that this dog is one happy camper because thats what he is !
